Networking at the Happiest Place on Earth

“If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” – Walt Disney

There is probably no better example of a business model that stayed true to its core values and was able to constantly reinvent itself, embrace change, challenge the status quo, survive economic downturns and generally inspire us like Disney.

That’s why NACUSO continues to hold our Network Conference on their property. This week Team NACUSO is in Orlando to begin “imagining” and planning for our 2017 event at the Yacht & Beach Club Resort that will be held on April 10th – 13th.

For those of you that have attended before, you’re in for a treat. We are moving to the Beach Club side of the resort as the rooms are newly remodeled and gorgeous. The conference will be at the same spacious place, you’ll just be coming at it from the other side.

The other reason we love Disney Orlando – there is literally something for everyone. Correction, there’s lots of something for everyone. Last night we walked through the new Downtown Disney which has been renamed Disney Springs. It’s hard to list all of the eating, recreation and shopping options so we’ll just fall back on Walt’s statement above: It you can dream it, you can do it. Want to drive a car into the lake and have it turn into a boat? Done. Want to eat sushi while bowling? Why not? Hot air balloon ride? Check. Here’s the link to Disney Springs Check it out.

The Boardwalk in the morning. No people!
The Boardwalk in the morning. No people!

This morning team NACUSO got up early and walked the Boardwalk. An easy and beautiful .8 mile loop that takes you from our hotel to the entrance to Epcot, the shops and restaurants along the Boardwalk, past the Swan and Dolphin Resorts (with more fine dining options) and back to the Yacht & Beach Club. You can also take a complimentary water taxi to all of these points from the lighthouse dock.

Remember the early days of Disney when you would stand in line and buy a book of tickets for the rides?  “A” tickets were generally the least expensive like the Main Street carriage ride. “B” tickets were of the Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride or Tea Cups variety and on up to the coveted “E” ticket where you could ride Splash Mountain and Space Mountain. Well the continually creative team at Disney has made hotel, meal, ticket booking incredibly easy, elegant and safe. It’s called the MagicBand. Your MagicBand enables you to travel lighter throughout your vacation. Use it to enter the parks, unlock your Disney Resort hotel room and buy food and merchandise. Plus, your MagicBand gives you FastPass+ access to all the experiences you’ve selected online, so you can simply concentrate on enjoying the fun with the people you care about.

Thank you to all of the 2016 attendees that completed the conference evaluation. We strive to constantly improve the experience by listening to and making changes based on our member feedback. So this year look for spouse activities, repeated break-out sessions, a little more “down time” (or networking time) and of course keeping the ever popular Next Big Idea Competition as well as repeating and improving the Partner Connection Sessions.

As a reminder, the 2017 Network Conference is scheduled the week before Easter and during Spring Break season so you’ll want to book your rooms early. We have also arranged for a limited number of rooms pre and post conference at our group rate of $255.  Typical rates for this resort can range between $400 to $600 per night for a standard room. Book your room now and bring your family to enjoy all that the Beach Club Resort and Disney World’s incomparable theme parks and water parks have to offer.

And as they say at the Happiest Place on Earth – Have a Magical Day!
