NetGiver Joins BECU Fintech Incubator

October 3, 2022 – NetGiver is the first Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO) to join an esteemed list of young
companies being welcomed into the BECU Fintech Incubator. In its fourth year, this 12-month-long program is designed to help grow and support startups in the financial industry while promoting innovation. Operating in partnership with the University of Washington’s CoMotion Labs, the incubator combines BECU’s industry leadership in broad-based financial services, data analysis, and consumer engagement with CoMotion’s incubation, innovation, and technology commercialization expertise. Over the course of the coming year, NetGiver will have access to mentors located across the country, with experience not just in the credit union space but in all aspects of growing a fintech. These mentors provide invaluable insight into the issues credit unions are facing in the industry, supporting
NetGiver to grow and help fill these needs. NetGiver brings a unique offering to the credit union movement, allowing for the value alignment of credit unions, their members, and their community. By partnering with BECU and benefitting from their valuable guidance and network, NetGiver will be able to accelerate the impact of this powerful
platform. “BECU’s partnership with UW CoMotion allows us to support startups who will help foster innovation in the financial services industry,” said Alysha Dalessi, BECU’s associate product manager of digital innovation. “We are proud of the opportunity to work with NetGiver to increase the financial well-being of our communities for the long-term. NetGiver’s ability to bring giving to nonprofits that matter most to members is exciting and we can’t wait to see how they grow.” In partnership with BECU and CoMotion, NetGiver targets developing case studies into optimal
methods of deployment, perform user research, and beta test potential new features and processes.
NetGiver’s team will spend significant time in Seattle working alongside the incubator’s mentors and
advisors, making the most of their experience and guidance. The reputation and reach of both BECU
and the University of Washington will aid NetGiver in gaining greater access to influential nonprofit organizations in the area and around the country, while also providing resources necessary to accelerate the growth of the user base.
NetGiver joined BECU and CoMotion staff in Seattle in July for the kickoff of the one-year incubator program. Eric Berg, Co-Founder of NetGiver stated, “We are thrilled and honored to be the first CUSO selected to participate in the BECU/CoMotion Incubator. NetGiver believes in the unique value proposition of mission-based financial cooperatives, and we are looking forward to using this opportunity to grow the credit union impact, making no-fee giving accessible to all donors.” The incubator represents an unmatched opportunity for NetGiver to grow and become an even more
powerful force for good in the credit union space.
