NACUSO wants to recognize the recent achievements of two of its members and Platinum Partners. PSCU Financial Services CEO, and NACUSO board chairman, David Serlo, St. Petersburg, Florida, won the 2008 Ernst & Young Florida Entrepreneur Of The Year® Award. In addition, CUSO Financial Services, LP CEO Valorie Seyfert, San Diego, California, received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2008 Award in the business services category in the greater San Diego region.
According to Ernst & Young, LLP, Seyfert’s award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who are building and leading dynamic, growing businesses. Seyfert was selected by an independent panel of judges, and the award was presented at a gala event at the La Jolla Hyatt Aventine on Monday, June 9.
Serlo’s award recognizes men and women who excel at growing and sustaining market-leading businesses. The award celebrates Serlo’s accomplishments, including innovation in the financial services industry, the creation of jobs, and contributions to community growth and development. Serlo received the award in a ceremony in Orlando, Florida, on June 5.
Serlo, Seyfert, and other winners from regional Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year programs across the United States, are now eligible for consideration in the national Entrepreneur Of The Year 2008 awards which will take place November 12-16 in Palm Springs, California. The awards are the concluding portion of the Strategic Growth Forum, the nation’s most prestigious gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies. Past winners include: Michael Dell of Dell, Inc.; Pierre Omidyar of eBay, Inc.; Herb Kelleher of Southwest Airlines; and Jim McCann of 1-800-Flowers.com.
Both Serlo and Seyfert have advanced the CUSO business model related to collaboration and innovation and have furthered the growth of credit unions. NACUSO salutes their accomplishments and achievements in the industry.
