CommunityAmerica announces community access center

August 29, 2022 – CommunityAmerica Credit Union is excited to announce the unveiling of their new Community Access Centers, a brand-new concept and the first of its kind in Kansas City. The first location will open in partnership with Metropolitan Community College in Hickman Mills on August 30 following a grand opening event.

“CommunityAmerica is about people helping people, which means recognizing there are a vast range of wants and needs to fulfill when it comes to financial products and services,” said Lisa Ginter, CEO of CommunityAmerica. “Understanding that gave us the opportunity to uncover even more ways to help people beyond the traditional bank branch offering. We created this new concept to be a stronger partner in the communities we serve, delivering financial counseling and other valuable services and support, all under one roof. We’re thrilled to be able to unveil our first location in partnership with Metropolitan Community College, bringing the powerful combination of financial services and education to south Kansas City.”

“Our Mission at Metropolitan Community College is `Preparing Students, Serving Communities and Creating Opportunities for All,’” said Dr. Kim Beatty, Chancellor of Metropolitan Community College. “This new center is a fantastic opportunity to expand that mission into South Kansas City and to further strengthen our close and long-standing partnership with CommunityAmerica Credit Union.”

The Community Access Center will deliver more holistic solutions to enhance peace of mind for individuals and businesses. CommunityAmerica joined other businesses and organizations in listening sessions with people around Kansas City and learned about issues that people were most concerned with. The results of those conversations helped influence the services that will be offered.

These services will address four key determinants:

  1. Financial Well-Being
  2. Education
  3. Community Support System
  4. Health and Well-being

CommunityAmerica will use their expertise and take the lead on the financial education aspect, while MCC will lead the education area. To address the other two determinants, and more in the future, the team will partner with other reputable organizations in their respective communities to provide various resources all under one roof.

The grand opening event will take place starting at 4 p.m. with the official presentation and ribbon cutting beginning at 4:15 p.m. Along with Ginter and Beatty, CommunityAmerica spokesperson and Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce will speak.
