Campaign Urges Credit Unions to Consider CUSO Solutions First, Then “BUY CUSO”

Las Vegas, Nev. (April 29, 2008) – The National Association of Credit Union Service Organizations (NACUSO) announced the roll-out of a new “BUY CUSO” advertising campaign, during proceedings at the NACUSO 2008 Annual Conference in Las Vegas, today. BUY CUSO is a NACUSO sponsored campaign created to increase the awareness of CUSOs as providers of effective solutions to the credit union industry, through collaboration with CUSOs. In addition, BUY CUSO is designed to educate the industry on the benefits and expertise of credit union-owned CUSOs and third-party partners.

In 2007, Mountain America Credit Union, CU*Answers, Member Gateways, LLC, and Beyond Marketing, LLC contributed $5,000 each, providing the total $20,000 donation to make the BUY CUSO campaign happen. BUY CUSO advertisements started April 28, on several trade publication Web sites, and will continue in printed trade publications through spring 2008.

“NACUSO wants credit unions to consider CUSO solution providers first, and then buy from a CUSO to meet a particular need,” said NACUSO president/CEO Thomas C. Davis. “CUSOs are owned by credit unions to serve credit unions. When credit unions connect with collaborative and innovative CUSO opportunities, they keep the solutions in the credit union family, for the benefit of their members and all concerned.” Providing education and networking opportunities to help credit unions understand the value of “Buying CUSO” is one of the primary objectives of NACUSO’s National Center for Collaboration and Innovation.

Credit unions can find many leading CUSO solution providers in the NACUSOMatch Directory of Member CUSOS, available at www.nacuso.org. For search assistance, they may also contact NACUSO by e-mail at info@nacuso.org, or call toll-free 888-462-2870.

CUSO partners are encouraged to utilize BUYCUSO materials in their advertising and marketing. For your copy of the BUYCUSO Logo and usage recommendations, contact Shawna Luna.
